The Life Academy Program began with a year of intentional mentoring, basic life skill development, yoga sessions, and the introduction of the Sewing Collective. The students took steps toward independence as they opened their own bank accounts, and interviewed for jobs.

The second year of the Life Academy program is building a transition from student to employee, while providing the educational and therapeutic support that will allow each student to gain confidence and grow in his or her career. Some students are employed outside of Life Academy, while some are employed by the Life Academy Sewing Collective, but all students have access to bi-weekly therapy sessions and weekly literacy classes.
