Joseph’s Prayer Garden

Grief, and the journey to find purpose in it, is at the core of the Touch A Life story, but we are never prepared to grieve again. This past September, the Touch A Life Care Center family lost one of our own. Joseph G. passed away from a sudden illness at the age of 16, leaving his twin brother Jacob and the rest of his Touch A Life family mourning the loss of this wonderful young man.

In honor of Joseph’s life, we are planning a small prayer garden at the center of the Care Center campus in Kumasi. The garden will include a small hut for shade, several benches, with new trees and flowers planted around the hut. Offering a quiet and beautiful place for the Touch A Life children, staff, and volunteers to remember Joseph will bring healing to many broken hearts. It will also stand in community with other legacy project buildings that make up our Care Center.

It is our goal to raise $5,000 for this prayer garden project and have it completed by the end of 2016. If you would like to contribute to this project in honor of Joseph, you can make a donation online and write “Prayer Garden” in the donation notes.

If you are facing your own journey of loss, please visit our Grief Community and connect with us.
